LONDON— Telescope and the Ditchley Foundation have today announced a landmark partnership with The UK’s Advanced Research & Invention Agency (ARIA). This bold new initiative, part of ARIA's Forecasting Tipping Points programme, is designed to spark innovation at the intersection of science, technology, and policy, creating next-generation early warning systems that expand our ability to anticipate and understand climate tipping points.

ARIA’s Forecasting Tipping Points programme looks to create an early warning system capable of providing earlier insights into Earth’s most dynamic systems – giving leaders the foresight to adapt, mitigate, and build resilience well before challenges become crises. By convening a global network of technical talent, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, Telescope and the Ditchley Foundation's new partnership will co-design the early warning system and unlock opportunities to transform how societies plan for the future.

This effort is not just about preventing risks — it’s about harnessing discovery and ingenuity to open new pathways for collaboration, strengthen economies, and accelerate climate solutions worldwide. Together, ARIA, Telescope, and Ditchley are charting a more prepared, adaptive, and hopeful future

“Our goal is to develop a forecasting system that provides valuable information for whoever needs it - whether a policymaker or local fisherman. Only by including them in the design of the science and architecture of the system can we ensure that we provide information that is important for them to take action,” said Gemma Bale, Programme Director, Forecasting Tipping Points, ARIA.

Uniting ARIA’s research leadership, Telescope’s network of extraordinary talent, and Ditchley’s convening strength, this effort seeks to channel capital toward transformative technologies and rally the brightest minds to advance science that endures.

“The UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency is at the forefront of building products that aim to make society more secure and prosperous,” said Eric Braverman, Chair and CEO of Telescope. “Its Forecasting Tipping Points programme is a role model for global science -- drawing together some of the most exceptional British, American and international technologists to develop a climate early-warning system essential to economic prosperity. Together with the world-renowned Ditchley Foundation, we are honored to do our part drawing in essential talent in technology, finance, and policy, and putting these networks to work on behalf of all of us.”

“Ditchley exists to bring people together across sectors and borders to solve the hardest problems,” said James Arroyo OBE, Director of the Ditchley Foundation. “By working alongside Telescope and ARIA, we can help turn brilliant science into shared global resilience — ensuring that predictive technologies reach the policymakers and communities who need them most.”

This announcement reflects Telescope’s mission to ensure that transformative technologies benefit society as a whole. It underscores growing international recognition that today’s most urgent challenges demand bold, cross-sector collaboration.
